Application: Fabric Covered Buildings for Golf Cart Storage
Falcon Lake Golf Course is a beautiful 18 hole course
located 90 minutes east of Winnipeg, Manitoba on the Trans
Canada Highway. Ranked number 30 out of the top 100 golf
courses in Canada, Falcon Lake Golf Course offers a
challenging course stretching from 6600 to 7000 yards. When
Falcon Lake Golf Course purchased a new fleet of golf carts,
they decided to store them inside a tension fabric building.
The 32' (9.7m) wide x 120' (36.5m) long fabric building
houses 60 carts daily.
This business decision has resulted in a lot less
maintenance. The fabric building includes a wash facility
where the golf carts are cleaned and prepped the night
before. In the morning, the carts are unplugged and moved
out of the fabric building in perfect condition and ready to
go.
Every morning getting up to wipe and dry off the carts
was a bit aggravating, says Jeff Heiland, Associate Golf
Professional at Falcon Lake Golf Course, we used to
have to wipe off the dew, the water, and the bugs everyday.
Sandy Kurceba, a former Australian tour player, is an
international trick shot artist and is also the Director of
Golf at Falcon Lake Golf Course.
This tension fabric
building is functional because we can get the carts coming
in the back door to get cleaned, washed and housed with
electricity, says Sandy, it's big enough to do all the
work that we have with the carts.
Falcon Lake Golf Course chose a darker green fabric to blend
in with the surrounding natural environment.
The color is
terrific because it blends with the scenery. It is a very
functional fabric storage building for our space and time,
says Sandy.
